Research and Data-Driven Equity Analysis Background
Mr. Robinson is a seasoned transportation researcher who has worked with state, regional, and local government officials, national experts, and equity activists to affect and mitigate environmental justice (EJ) issues at the neighborhood level. He has developed case studies on various aspects of the EJ and Equity Equation. His work provides insights on the nature of EJ and Equity issues (i.e. what's happening beneath the surface, alternative institutional outreach approaches and analytical guidelines.
Mr. Robinson served as a paper review chairperson for the Transportation Research Board's Environmental Justice and Transportation committee (ADD05) for eight years. He has co-authored several EJ and transportation peer-reviewed articles.
Mr. Robinson drafted an Environmental Justice in Transportation Toolkit, a collection of transportation planning procedures and processes developed through the lens of low-income and minority residents. The toolkit provides a range of helpful procedures and processes, such as accessibility analysis, effective community involvement, and public health.

Mr. Brenman has led and contributed to numerous civil rights, equity, and social justice endeavors. He has worked at USDOT for nine years, which has given him a deep understanding of the department’s needs. He is an experienced state and federal agency executive who has developed and led many pathbreaking projects.
Mr. Brenman has also taught civil and human rights in graduate master’s in public administration programs and in the Young African Leadership Initiative, a USAID program, at Morgan State University, a Historically Black University, and the East Africa Learning Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
